Before you begin
Completing this form produces a downloadable packet containing:
- A PDF - your project information and a map of the area you draw
- A KMZ - your map geometry for Google Earth
- A shapefile - your map geometry for ArcGIS / QGIS
All three carry the same information you enter here.
To mark your project area, use the drawing tools at the top-left of the map:
- Point - drop a marker at a location
- Line - trace a route or other linear feature
- Polygon - outline an area
Add as many as you need - any mix of points, lines, and polygons can go on the same map.
This tool does not save your work. If you reload or close the page, everything is lost. For the longer questions - Purpose & Need, Project Description, and what’s at risk - draft your text in Word or Notepad first, then copy and paste it in, so a stray refresh never costs you your writing.
